SEE ALSO...

NBK Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NBK protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NBK (H-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NBK protein, also known as Bik, plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis, acting as a pro-apoptotic factor that promotes cell death in response to various stimuli. Unlike other members of the Bcl-2 family, NBK protein does not contain conserved Bcl-2 homology domains typically associated with anti-apoptotic functions. NBK protein shares a critical BH3 motif with Bax, a well-known pro-apoptotic protein, suggesting similar mechanisms of action. NBK′s ability to induce apoptosis is particularly important in cancer, where evasion of programmed cell death is a hallmark of tumorigenesis. Understanding NBK′s interactions and functions can provide insights into potential therapeutic strategies aimed at reactivating apoptotic pathways in cancer cells.

I am using NBK (H-1): sc-365625 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: jerojero
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
