SEE ALSO...

CD8 Antibody (UCH-T4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the CD8 protein of human origin by immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-CD8 antibody (UCH-T4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD8, also known as Leu 2 or T8, is a critical cell surface glycoprotein that forms a two-chain complex (either αα or αβ) and plays a vital role in the immune response by binding to class I major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules presented by antigen-presenting cells (APCs). The primary function of CD8 is to enhance antigen recognition by the T cell receptor (TCR), thereby strengthening the interactions between the TCR and the antigen, which is essential for effective T cell activation and response. Additionally, CD8-expressing T cells are crucial in maintaining immune surveillance and may help control viral infections, such as HIV, by keeping viral loads in check. The ability of CD8 to facilitate TCR signaling and its involvement in the immune response underscores its importance in both adaptive immunity and potential therapeutic applications in immunology and oncology.

Can CD8 (UCH-T4): sc-1181 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: jenni
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, CD8 (UCH-T4): sc-1181 monoclonal antibody is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as phycoerythrin (sc-1181 PE), fluoroscein (sc-1181 FITC), Alexa Fluor® 488 (sc-1181 AF488) or Alexa Fluor® 647 (sc-1181 AF647)
