    SEE ALSO...

CD33 Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CD33 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD33 (B-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD33 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein primarily located on the surface of granulocyte and macrophage precursors in the bone marrow, while being absent from pluripotent stem cells. CD33 expression on monocytes in peripheral blood makes this protein a crucial marker for distinguishing myelogenous leukemia cells from lymphoid or erythroid leukemias. CD33 may function as a sialic acid-dependent cell adhesion molecule, playing a significant role in mediating cell-cell interactions and influencing immune responses. Understanding CD33 function is vital, as this protein can impact the development of therapeutic strategies targeting myeloid malignancies and enhance our comprehension of immune system regulation.
