SEE ALSO...

NF-H Antibody (H-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b light chain antibody that detects neurofilament-H (NF-H) in human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NF-H is a crucial component of the neuronal cytoskeleton, belonging to the intermediate filament family, and plays a significant role in maintaining the structural integrity of neurons. NF-H′s dynamic nature is underscored by numerous phosphorylation sites, which are targeted by various protein kinases, including protein kinase A, protein kinase C, and cyclin-dependent kinase 5. These modifications are essential for regulating neurofilament assembly and disassembly, thereby influencing axon caliber and overall neuronal function. Alterations in NF-H phosphorylation and metabolism are often linked to neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson′s disease, and Alzheimer′s disease, making NF-H a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions. Anti-NF-H antibody (H-5) provides researchers with a powerful tool for investigating the role of neurofilaments in neuronal health and disease.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with NF-H (H-5): sc-133237 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
