SEE ALSO...

ADH Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ADH protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ADH antibody (G-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The alcohol dehydrogenase family, to which ADH belongs, plays a crucial role in metabolizing a diverse range of substrates, such as ethanol, retinol, and other aliphatic alcohols, which is vital for maintaining metabolic homeostasis. Specifically, ADH structure is composed of several homo- and heterodimers formed by alpha, beta, and gamma subunits, which allows for a high degree of enzymatic flexibility and substrate specificity. This structural diversity enables ADH to efficiently catalyze the reversible conversion of organic alcohols to ketones or aldehydes in the presence of the coenzyme NAD. ADH physiological importance in the liver is underscored by ADH role in detoxifying ethanol produced by intestinal microorganisms, thereby preventing potential toxicity and contributing to overall metabolic regulation.

Can ADH (G-7): sc-133207 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, ADH (G-7): sc-133207 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
