ACSL4 Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects ACSL4 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ACSL4 antibody (A-5) is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ACSL4, a member of the acyl-CoA synthetase family, plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by catalyzing the conversion of long-chain fatty acids into acyl-CoA derivatives, which are essential for the synthesis of cellular lipids and the β-oxidation pathway. This enzymatic activity drives energy production and maintains cellular lipid homeostasis, impacting processes such as membrane formation and signaling. ACSL4 is expressed in various tissues, including the brain, heart, and skeletal muscle, where regulation links to important physiological functions, including energy metabolism and inflammatory response modulation. ACSL4′s ability to preferentially activate specific fatty acids, such as arachidonic acid, highlights its significance in cellular signaling pathways and potential implications in metabolic disorders and diseases.

Hi, Ive recently purchased this antibody and have tried on my westerns 1:200 dilution, which is very high The lysates are from Brain, RIPA extracted at a validated age (p150). Was transfered onto a membrane but getting no signal. Help.

Can this ACSL4 monoclonal antibody be used for use in immunohistochemistry of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections?

This antibody, ACSL4, sc-271800, has not yet been tested for IHC(P). Instead we would strongly recommend an alternate clone, ACSL4 (F-4): sc-365230, which has excellent data in FFPE human tissues.
