    SEE ALSO...

STAC Antibody (J-19) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the STAC protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-STAC antibody (J-19) is available as a non-conjugated format. STAC protein, also known as SH3 and cysteine-rich domain-containing protein 1, consists of 402 amino acids and features one Src homology 3 (SH3) domain and one cysteine-rich domain (CRD). STAC protein is predominantly expressed in the brain, where STAC localizes to the cytoplasm, highlighting STAC′s role as a neuron-specific protein. The presence of SH3 and CRD domains suggests STAC′s involvement in critical signal transduction pathways within neurons, which are essential for proper neuronal function and communication. STAC protein has been implicated in protecting cells from apoptosis, making STAC a potential player in neuroprotection. Given STAC′s specific expression in neurons and involvement in signaling processes, STAC may be linked to various hereditary neurological disorders, underscoring STAC′s importance in both basic neuroscience research and potential therapeutic applications.
