SPRED1 Antibody (M23-P2G3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SPRED1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SPRED1 antibody (M23-P2G3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SPRED1, or sprouty-related, EVH1 domain containing 1, is a 444 amino acid protein characterized by the presence of one KBD domain, one sprouty domain, and one WH1 domain. SPRED1 is primarily localized to the cell membrane and cholesterol-rich membrane raft fractions, where SPRED1 plays a crucial role as a negative regulator of the ERK (extracellular signal-regulated kinase) signaling pathway, which is vital for cell proliferation and differentiation. By inhibiting the growth-factor-mediated activation of ERK, SPRED1 helps maintain cellular homeostasis and prevent uncontrolled cell growth, which is particularly important in the context of cancer and other proliferative disorders. SPRED1 can function as a homodimer or form heterodimers with SPRED2, further enhancing regulatory capabilities. Mutations in the SPRED1 gene are associated with neurofibromatosis type 1-like syndrome (NFLS), an autosomal dominant condition characterized by multiple café-au-lait spots, axillary freckling, and macrocephaly, underscoring SPRED1′s significance in developmental processes and disease pathology.
