Myozenin 2 Antibody (E-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Myozenin 2 (MYOZ2) of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MYOZ2 monoclonal antibody (E-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MYOZ2, also known as calsarcin-1, plays a crucial role in muscle function as a calcineurin-binding protein, which is essential for regulating calcium signaling in muscle cells. By binding calcineurin to α-actinin at the Z-line of the sarcomere, MYOZ2 facilitates the coupling of calcineurin activity with muscle contraction, thereby influencing gene expression related to slow fiber development and cardiac muscle hypertrophy. This interaction is particularly important during embryogenesis, where MYOZ2, along with MYOZ1, is expressed in developing muscle tissues. MYOZ2 gene is located on chromosome 4q and is specifically expressed in adult cardiac and slow-twitch skeletal muscle, distinguishing MYOZ2 from MYOZ1, which is primarily found in fast skeletal muscle.
