SEE ALSO...

MTHFD2 Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects MTHFD2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MTHFD2 antibody (A-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MTHFD2, or Methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase 2, is a crucial 350 amino acid bifunctional enzyme that plays a vital role in the interconversion of tetrahydrofolate derivatives, which are essential for the synthesis of purine, methionine, and thymidylate. MTHFD2 exhibits both methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase and methenyltetrahydrofolate cyclohydrolase activities, requiring either NADP or NAD as cofactors for enzymatic functions. MTHFD2 activity is significantly influenced by intracellular concentrations of magnesium and phosphate, which are critical for maintaining cellular metabolism. MTHFD2 functions as a homodimer and is predominantly localized in the mitochondria, where MTHFD2 is expressed during the development of normal tissues, underscoring its importance in cellular energy metabolism and overall cellular health.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well with WB using LICOR systemI have tested this antibody in several prostate cancer cell lines including LNCaP, DU145, C42B, and 22Rv1. It gives a strong specific band around 35 kDA which responds to its knockdown by siRNA. There is a non-specific ban around 27-28 kDA which doesn't respond to knockdown.
