SEE ALSO...

Blood Group B antigen Antibody (89-F) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Blood Group B antigen of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Blood Group B antigen (89-F) antibody is available in non-conjugated form. Blood Group B antigen plays a crucial role in immune response and blood transfusion compatibility, as it is one of the key determinants of blood type in humans. Blood Group B antigen is primarily located on the surface of erythrocytes and certain epithelial cells, where Blood Group B antigen contributes to cell-cell recognition and signaling processes. Understanding Blood Group B antigen distribution is vital, especially in clinical settings, as Blood Group B antigen can influence transfusion reactions and organ transplant compatibility. Additionally, Blood Group B antigen presence can be modulated during malignant transformations, making Blood Group B antigen a significant marker in cancer research. The complexity of blood group antigens, including interrelated specificities such as A, H, and Lewis antigens, highlights Blood Group B antigen importance in both health and disease, providing valuable insights for diagnostics and therapeutic interventions.

Can Blood Group B antigen (89-F): sc-52371 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Blood Group B antigen (89-F): sc-52371 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
