Pyridoxal phosphatase Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects pyridoxal phosphatase of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-pyridoxal phosphatase antibody (F-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Pyridoxal phosphatase (PLPase) is a crucial enzyme composed of 296 amino acids that plays a vital role in vitamin B6 metabolism by catalyzing the dephosphorylation of pyridoxal 5′-phosphate, the active form of this essential vitamin. PLPase is predominantly expressed in the central nervous system, particularly in the brain, where PLPase is involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters, including serotonin and gamma-aminobutyric acid, which are critical for maintaining proper neuronal function and communication. Dysregulation of PLPase activity has been linked to various neurological disorders and certain types of cancer, as autoantibodies against PLPase have shown a strong correlation with these conditions. Anti-pyridoxal phosphatase antibody (F-2) in multiple formats enhances research and diagnostic applications, making PLPase studies in health and disease more accessible and comprehensive.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-271379 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
