INPP1 Antibody (F-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects INPP1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). INPP1, or inositol polyphosphate 1-phosphatase, is a 399 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the phosphatidylinositol signaling pathway, which is vital for various cellular processes, including neuronal survival and the transduction of signals from growth factors, neurotransmitters, and G protein-coupled receptors. INPP1 is predominantly expressed in the pancreas and kidney, highlighting its importance in metabolic and renal functions. INPP1 hydrolyzes the phosphate group at position one of the inositol ring from polyphosphates such as inositol 1,4-bisphosphate and inositol 1,3,4-trisphosphate, thereby regulating intracellular signaling cascades. Notably, overexpression of INPP1 has been linked to a reduction in the responses of atrial natriuretic peptide and myosin light chain 2, which are associated with contraction-induced hypertrophy, suggesting a potential role in cardiac health. Furthermore, defects in INPP1 have been implicated in neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism and manic-depressive illness, underscoring INPP1′s significance in both neurological and cardiovascular contexts.
