SEE ALSO...

Akt2 Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Akt2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Akt2 Antibody (F-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Akt2, a member of the serine/threonine kinase Akt family, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways that regulate metabolism, cell growth, and survival. Specifically, Akt2 is involved in the insulin signaling pathway, where activation occurs by phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) in response to insulin and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). This activation is essential for promoting glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis, making Akt2 a key player in maintaining glucose homeostasis and energy balance in the body. Akt2′s ability to modulate various cellular processes, including apoptosis and cellular proliferation, underscores its importance in both normal physiology and disease states, such as cancer and metabolic disorders. A Pleckstrin homology domain in Akt2 allows interaction with phosphoinositides, facilitating recruitment to the plasma membrane and subsequent activation, which is vital for function in signaling cascades.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-5270 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jenni
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
