SEE ALSO...

PTBP-2 Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PTBP-2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PTBP-2 (A-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PTBP-2, also known as polypyrimidine tract binding protein 2 or neural polypyrimidine tract-binding protein, is a crucial RNA-binding protein predominantly expressed in brain, with additional presence in heart and skeletal muscle tissues. PTBP-2 is localized in the nucleus and features four RNA recognition motif domains, which are essential for regulating exon splicing and stabilizing mRNAs in the cytoplasm. PTBP-2 exists in six isoforms due to alternative splicing, with isoforms 1 and 2 being specific to neuronal tissues, while isoforms 3 through 6 are found in non-neuronal tissues. The diversity of these isoforms allows for modulation of RNA-binding properties, which can influence gene expression and cellular responses, making PTBP-2 a vital player in post-transcriptional regulation and a potential target for therapeutic interventions in neurological disorders.

The antibody sc-376316 is suitable for immunoprecipitation experiments? Is it specific to PTBP2 isoform and not isoform PTBP1 ?

Asked by: CGallego
Thank you for your question. We have not yet tested this antibody in an immunoprecipitation assay, however, we do recommend and therefore extend our product warranty to cover this research application based on our experience in developing other antibodies. This antibody is specific for PTBP-2.

could you please show an IF done by this antibody, as you say it works? thank you iona

Asked by: iona
Thank you for your question. We do not currently have any published IF data for our mouse monoclonal antibody, PTBP-2 Antibody (A-10): sc-376316. We do have published Western blot and IHC(P) data on our website. We do warranty the antibody to work for IF based on our validation of the antibody in these other research applications. If you purchase the antibody and it does not work as expected in one of our recommended applications and species, then we would be happy to offer you a replacement or refund. Please contact our Technical Service department for assistance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great antibody!I tested this antibody for my western blot. Using 1:2k dilution, it worked well with very high signal and no extra bands. If someone are still troubled by weak signals from similar antibodies of Abcam, I suggest trying this excellent product.
