E2F-2 Antibody (TFE-25) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects E2F-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). E2F-2 monoclonal antibody (TFE-25) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. E2F-2 plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle, particularly in the transition from G1 phase to S phase, by controlling the expression of genes necessary for DNA synthesis and cell proliferation. Such regulation is vital for maintaining proper cell growth and division, as dysregulation can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation and contribute to tumorigenesis. E2F-2 functions as a transcription factor that forms heterodimers with DP-1 protein, creating an active E2F transcriptional regulatory complex that influences the expression of target genes. The importance of E2F-2 in cell cycle regulation underscores potential as a target for therapeutic interventions in cancer and other proliferative disorders.

Thank you for your question. We have not yet determined the specific light chain type for this mouse monoclonal antibody, E2F-2 (TFE-25): sc-9967. However, because >98% of all mouse IgG has a kappa light chain, this is more than likely the light chain type. If you would like to test a free 10 µg sample of our mouse IgG kappa chain binding protein, please contact our Technical Service Department.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-9967 X be used instead of the standard form sc-9967?

Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
