BRE Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Brain and reproductive organ-expressed protein (BRE) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BRE is a 415 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis by binding to the intracellular juxtamembrane domain of the death receptor, tumor necrosis factor receptor 1 (TNF-R1), as well as the death receptor FAS. This interaction is significant because BRE downregulates TNF-alpha-induced activation of NF-kB, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and differentiation in epithelial, neural, and germ line cells.
