SEE ALSO...

Pax-8 Antibody (PAX8R1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Pax-8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-Pax-8 antibody (PAX8R1) is available in a non-conjugated form, specifically designed for researchers seeking to study Pax-8 in various biological processes. Pax-8 is a crucial transcription factor that plays a significant role in embryogenesis and differentiation of thyroid follicular cells, vital for proper thyroid hormone biosynthesis. Pax-8 is predominantly expressed in developing and adult thyroid, developing secretory system and, to a lesser extent, adult kidney. Pax-8 interacts with other transcription factors, such as TTF-1 and TTF-2, to regulate expression of key genes involved in thyroid function, including sodium iodide symporter (NIS), thyroid peroxidase (TPO), thyroglobulin (TG), and thyrotropin receptor (TSHR). Mutations in Pax-8 can lead to thyroid dysgenesis, highlighting its importance in thyroid development and function. Pax-8 is located on human chromosome 2q12-q14 and produces six isoforms (A to F) through alternative splicing, which exhibit distinct DNA binding capacities and functional roles, further emphasizing the complexity and significance of Pax-8 in endocrine regulation.
