IGF-I protein.IGF is a well-characterized basic peptide believed to besecreted by the liver and to circulate in the blood. It hasgrowth-regulating, insulin-like, and mitogenic activities. This growth factor has a major, but not absolute, dependence on Somatotropin. It is believed to be mainly activein adults in contrast to Insulin like Growth Factor II, whichis a major fetal growth factor.Recombinant rat IGF-I produced in E. coli is a single,non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 70 aminoacids and having a molecular mass of 7.687 kDa.Recombinant IGF-I is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
