| Function | N-acylates some free L-amino acids and their derivatives using a CoA thioester as cofactor. Using acetyl-CoA as a cofactor, substrate specificity is methionine sulfone > methionine sulfoximine > methionine sulfoxide > methionine. Asparagine, lysine, glutamine, aspartate and glutamate are very poor substrates.
